Seriously Casual
Seriously Casual is an exhibition by Lauri Ranin that celebrates the inclusivity of art. Art can and should be fun, and it belongs to everyone. Through his work, he aims to bring joy and excitement to the never-ending rows of greige and all-white walls in modern spaces.
Lauri Ranin has not attended any fancy universities to study art or design. He’s a sailor. A carpenter. A school assistant. His years on the seven seas have taught him to value the journey itself rather than simply arriving at the destination—and that every handcrafted piece still holds meaning in this age of artificial intelligence. In his work, he lets his mind wander and his hands drift away from the beaten path, offering the viewer something to delve into and lose themselves in.
Lauri’s work can be found in restaurants, office spaces, and private collections across Helsinki. Seriously Casual is his first public art exhibition. The premiere takes place on February 7th and the exhibition will be open until April 30th.
