Artist of the Year - Tuuli Autio and Sini Majuri

In the lobby and bar of Hotel Helka, works by two recipients of the Artist of the Year award, Tuuli Autio and Sini Majuri, will be on display from July 1 to August 30, 2026. The selection of this duo highlights both their strong professional expertise and their fascinating contrast.

Tuuli Autio works with Finnish wood, exploring the temporality of materials, natural processes, and the relationship between humans and their environment. Her works invite viewers to pause, to experience, to touch, and to recognize the history of wood as well as our connection to nature, to others, and to ourselves. Autio’s sculptural expression combines materiality and spatial thinking into a delicate, almost poetic whole.

Sini Majuri, in turn, brings glass art into new contexts and reaches new audiences. Her works address topical and socially significant themes, such as power structures, technological control, and the transformation of truth. Majuri’s expression merges art, design, and performativity, and her internationally recognized work has been presented in unexpected settings, including New York Fashion Week.

Together, Autio and Majuri create a compelling dialogue between nature-based materials and technologically influenced expression—offering a unique art experience for both Hotel Helka’s guests and the wider public.
